Battery life for electronic cigarettes, what can we expect?

It is almost impossible to predict the exact battery life because it depends on:

  • how you use your electronic cigarette
  • how you charge and maintain your electronic cigarette
  • on individual battery sizes and brands
  • the voltage or power you are using (variable voltage/power batteries only)
  • the coil you use in your tank

For example, an 18650 battery will last much longer for someone who takes short puffs rather than someone who takes very long puffs. If you maintain your e-cigarette better, the battery will last longer between charges. And if you use a low resistance coil, you will have more power and therefore the battery will not last as long.

For variable voltage/wattage mods, the huge range of possible settings makes it virtually impossible to estimate how many puffs you’ll be able to use between charges. There is such a big difference between vaping at 20W and vaping at 80W that the variation in puff count would be huge. However, you can safely assume that you will be able to vape an entire day on a single charge of any modern variable wattage mod, and even more so for higher capacity batteries.
